In August 2012, Kristin Celano formed Daycare Dance Academy (DDA) with the mission to provide quality dance and fitness education in childcare centers and schools throughout Maryland. Then in September 2015, in order to accommodate graduates of the academy and other dancers, DDA expanded to include classes open to the public at various locations. Kristin soon realized that the academy's name no longer suited this new mission of the business brought on by the expansion. So in July 2017, KC DANCE & FITNESS, LLC was formed. We pride ourselves in providing exceptional dance and fitness classes, without adding to the already busy schedules of parents. This convenience truly sets our program apart from other dance programs without sacrificing the student's education!

Kristin Celano has over 35 years of dancing experience and has been teaching in the Baltimore area for over 25 years. She received extensive training in the art of dance at the Janette Brown Studio of Dance in the areas of ballet, pointe, tap, and jazz. Kristin has proudly earned her post-graduate teaching certification through the Dance Masters of America (DMA) Teachers’ Training School and is currently a member of DMA, Chapter 17. She also holds certificates in Zumba, Zumba Kids, Zumba Kids Jr, Zumba Toning and Zumba Gold.
Kristin has studied under many renowned teachers and performers and has received gold medals in dance competitions in the mid-Atlantic area. In 1997, she choreographed and performed in “Broadway ‘97” at The Catholic High School of Baltimore and was the captain of their dance team for two years. She then went on to coach, choreograph, and dance with the Villa Julie College Dance Team. Kristin taught at the Baltimore Dance Center where she was the captain of Baltimore DanceAttack, a professional hip hop company.
Most recently, Kristin was the co-owner/director of A Step Ahead Dance Center in Perry Hall, MD from 2007-2013. She also holds an Associate of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education and is certified in CPR and First Aid through the American Heart Association.
